Amway India CEO along with some executives are arrested in Kerala. William S Pinckney is a US
citizen who was trying hard for the various governments especially in Kerala and other states to come up with the Multi level marketing laws. This would be a double blow to Amway India whose profit has been decling from the Network Marketing state Kerala.
Many of the earlier top leaders of Amway has left and since joined Monavie. Monavie is also unable to operate in Kerala. The top executives had earlier secured anticipatory bail. However the arrest has been made for the case pending with them since 2011.
Even after large overhall again Amway regarding the high prices, Amway India has not bent to make the prices affordable. Amway India had earlier reported to have made turnover of around Rs. 2,288 crore for the 2012-13 fiscal.
Many Amway leaders including Mr. Sajeev Nair, Ravi Jain, Kamal Dhingra, Jithendra Jain, SP Bharill had earlier left the sinking company to join new MLM companies.
